97 Buick Lemans.Sounds like a rod knocking.Isnt consistent.?

its also leaking about 1 quart of oil a week.i was told could be harmonic balancer.It just doesnt sound like that.It seems like it only does it.When the RPM'S are running high.Like when it shifts gears.Any ideas.
