Interpreting this poem "Abandoned Farmhouse"?

Well, you can interpret this poem in many ways because the poet doesn't tell you directly what happens, he just gives you clues and leaves it up to your imagination. It could of been that the man was abusive with the women and the child and they just left so they can have a better life since they really didn't have food. Or maybe they all just left because the farm didn't provide them with food anymore so they left to the city and nothing terrible happened they were just rumors because you don't really know for sure. Or maybe the man died and the woman and child just left. It can be interpreted in many different ways.
