What is the legal age to SERVE alcohol in BC, Canada?

I have already waitressed at a small restaurant and have served, pour alcohol etc. But because it is a small restaurant I think the manager is more slack about the "legalities" of a minor serving alchol. I heard however that 18 is the legal age to SERVE the alcohol, food etc., just not pour the alcohol??? I also read that in ontario you can serve alcohol at 18 even though the legal drinking age is 19. PLEASEEE HELPP!!!
